Coach's Spotlight... Pappy's Pizza won the 2008 Minor League Championship Game Saturday Jun 21, 2008 against Sullivan Financial (11 to 9). Jun 19: Loss 11 - 7 Zach received the game ball. Our team had a great season. Everyone contributed to our overall success, had some fun and learned a few things that will help them in the future! Jun 18: Win 13-2 Curtis received the game ball. Everyone contributed to the success of the team to date. We have another game to prepare for tomorrow, so warm ups begin 4:30, Game 5:30. June 16/17: Win 12-2 Our game played a very unusual game due to rain. Chris received the game ball for pitching, hitting and everyone did great. Our team must have had a good night's sleep because they played awesome today! June 14: Loss 17-8 OOP's, we turned down the Bye! Our team would rather play than get a free pass. Zach was injured, went to the ER and will play in Monday nights game. We made some fixable mistakes. June 11: Win 19-11 Phillip received the game ball for a stand up triple and great hustle while playing catcher. Tyler hit another triple with bases loaded! Awesome effort and enthusiasm by everyone. Now we prepare for the playoffs on Saturday, June 14th at 9:00AM! Jun 7: Win 6 -3 Aban received the game ball for exceptional fielding and effort. Tyler, Chris and Phillip each had great hit's... triples, in today's game. Our third baseman Ryan tagged a stealing runner out at a critical time to retire the sides. Awesome effort by each player! May 31: Win 10 -9 Tyler hit another inside the Park Home Run and received the game ball. We had some outstanding pitching, fielding and hitting tonight by all players. Our team has two games remaining this season... Keep up the good work! May 31: Loss 17 to 4 We learned a lot about teamwork, fielding, cutoffs and sportsmanship. However, our team never stopped trying! Three games are left this season to focus on and overcome any problems identified tonight. May 30: Win 13 - 1 The game ball for this fun game went to Liam for base running. Curtis received a game ball for outstanding pitching, fielding and hitting a triple with bases loaded. Another Awesome job from each and every ball player! May 23: Win 13 - 1 The game ball went to Kyle for an outstanding pitching, base running and hits. Great job from each player. Chris started the first inning off with an inside the park home run. Tyler finished off with a stand up Triple resulting in ( 3 RBI's ) capping off our 5th inning rally... Inter League Tournament May 18: Loss 17 - 16 The game ball went to Ryan for outstanding fielding, hitting and base running. Everyone played well with exceptional hits by Zach, Tyler and Cameron just to name a few. Once again our team had a come from behind rally against the Cardinals. They never gave up! Inter League Tournament May 17: Win 14 - 13 The game ball went to Aban and Niko for their outstanding fielding and base running efforts today. Everyone made an all out effort in the field, at bat and stealing bases. Zach, Kyle and Chris hit very well just to name a few. Our team persevered in this come from behind win against the Hooksett Orioles! May 12: Loss 14 - 11 The game ball went to Curtis for an outstanding catch, getting the runner out at home plate. Great job as catcher. Our team played a good game, made some mistakes, but our rally just fell short. May 9: Loss 15 - 5 against Knights ! Game ball went to Kyle for his pitching, and batting during our 4th inning rally. We learned to accept defeat as well as victory, and as sportsmen. This can make us a stronger more determined team to have fun playing ball. May 9: Outstanding Win 10 - 9 over Pappy's Pizza... Undefeated! Game ball to Chris for Pitching, Batting and to Aiden for his last inning pitching save. Our team's Effort, Perseverance, and RBI's contributed to tonight's win, over the only other undefeated team in the Manchester North Minor League! Tyler had a great stand up triple knocking in three runners. May 2: Another Challenging Win 11 - 5 against the Backroom. The game ball was awarded to two
players for a most unusual 3rd inning play. Cyrus
caught the ball; Chris threw for a
double play. However, Cyrus
not only tagged the first runner out at second but also Phillip
tagged the another runner to retire the sides! However,
Chris not
only caught another pop fly, he pitched, but also threw to second base
in time to get the 2 runners out and retired the sides
again. Our team effort and
seemed to have a lot of fun tonight!! May 2: Awesome win 15 -1 against the Knights. The game ball went to Zach for his overall outstanding fielding, hitting and pitching. Tyler had another great game with an inside the park Home Run... Grand Slam! Our teams overall pitching, fielding and hitting are improving... Liam made another great fly ball catch at third. The infielder's keep up the supporting chatter, calling for catches, and backing each other up. Outfielders cut offs are working to hold runners on base... Outstanding teamwork! April 26: Great Win, Opening Day 17-7, Awesome Teamwork!!! You can be proud of our team's outstanding achievements today: Cameron, & Tyler for hitting and pitching. Chris's double play, catch & throw to second in time to get the 2nd runner out, with the encouragement & direction of his team. Everyone contributed both in the field, on base running and at bat. Keep up the good work, have fun and continue working together! |
